Mazel Tov to… and Just a Week and a Half Left to Get Your Prayers in for a Sweet New Year!!

I always wonder whether and when to list the mazel tovs of all the people who have witnessed amazing turns in their lives after our 40-days of prayer.  After all, G-d doesn’t answer everyone’s prayers right away and I know some people reading this email may say, ‘well, that’s very nice for them but what about me? Did G-d forget about me? Does He love me?’

Of course He does!!!  Every moment waiting is supposed to build a muscle – of trust, of security – just the opposite of what you think!  Yesterday I heard a story about a big Rabbi who didn’t have children for 22 years.  Can you imagine how many prayers were said in those 22 years? How much potential despair and anguish. G-d – did you forget?  Am I not on your list anymore? Have I been relegated to the back?  One day they met a strange man in shul who really felt their pain.  He traveled to a tzaddik’s kever and cried for them, “Hashem haven’t they waited enough!!”  Within a month the wife was pregnant and gave birth to a healthy baby!

So was it his prayers alone? Or was it his prayers combined with 22 years of countless peoples’ prayers that finally tipped the scales?
Who knows.  We are not to judge; we only know not to give up as long as we are breathing and keep begging and trying for that happiness we want and deserve!  And G-d-willing we will get it in the end or die trying LOL.

So, Mazel Tov to Tanya who after 5 years of having us pray for her during the high holidays, met and got engaged to the love of her life, Eli.
Mazel tov to Linda on her recent job security after many rounds of company layoffs and to Aigul for getting not 1, but 3 amazing job offers after her 3 rounds of 40-days.  A big sigh of relief also to Alison, whose mother-in-law’s cancer went into remission after her 40 days of prayer for her.

Keep those stories coming. With time and more prayers we hope to hear one from every one of you!!!

If there is ever a time to invest in prayer, make it the 40 days from Rosh Chodesh Elul (August 11) to Yom Kippur (September 19) which starts in just a week and a half.

The verse from Shir HaShirim, “Ani L’dodi V’dodi Li” (“I am to my beloved as my beloved is to me”) alludes to the time between Rosh Chodesh Elul and Yom Kippur when Moshe went up to Har Sinai to pray for the forgiveness of the Jewish people. This is so because the total gematria of the last letter of each word equals exactly 40 (the number of days Moshe ascended to pray).  This is the source of our 40 days of prayer at the Kotel.  We will follow Moshe’s example by praying during this time, and hope that our prayers for you will be answered just as Moshe’s prayers for the Jewish people were answered.

It is a very exciting, yet anxious time – knowing that the next year holds within it a completely new potential for us on all fronts.  Anything is possible!

Pray for Me through Elul, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

With blessings for health and happiness, as well as spiritual and financial success for you and your family,

Batya

Do You Know What Time It Is? It’s almost Elul and the year 5779!

Blessings from Jerusalem,

How is everything? We hope all is well! Please be in touch – we would love to know what’s happening in your life.

In the meantime we wanted to tell you that the 40 days of prayer between Elul and Yom Kippur are starting in just two and a half weeks!

I know we are all busy with summer plans, but before you know it the New Year will be upon us and if we want it to be a good one then we have to be ready!

Anything can happen for you and your family next year!

What would you love to continue? Health? Job?
What do you want to change?  Relationship issues? Health? Finances?

Now is your chance to do something about it!

The world will literally start anew this Rosh Hashanah, and what will happen will largely depend on the prayers, charity and personal change that you put forth now towards that goal.  The root of everything in this physical world is spiritual – so start with affecting the spiritual world and G-d-willing your physical reality will change for the better!

Each year on Rosh Hashanah, “all inhabitants of the world pass before G‑d like a flock of sheep, and it is decreed in the heavenly court who shall live, and who shall die … who shall be impoverished, and who shall be enriched; who shall fall and who shall rise.”

Let’s help each other around the world to be successful.

We spend our days immersed in Torah-study at the place where all of your prayers go up.

You can give charity and support that Torah (equal to doing all 613 mitzvot at once) and that merit can stand before you during each of our prayers and especially on Rosh Hashanah itself at the Wall!

It’s very exciting. Let’s do this together.

Reserve my prayer agent at the Western Wall for the 40 days from Rosh Chodesh Elul until Yom Kippur

With blessings that you and your family are signed and sealed for a beautiful, sweet New Year 5779,

Batya
